Museums

Imperial War Museum, Duxford One of the best aircraft museums in the world. The American Museum boasts the best collection of US aircraft outside of America.

Royal Air Force Museum Hendon Britain's National Museum of Aviation.

The Fleet Air Arm Museum

De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre Incorporating the Mosquito Aircraft Museum, this is based at Salisbury Hall, where the famous Mosquito was originally designed. The museum contains many examples of the de Havilland company's output. Pride of place undoubtably goes to W4050, the prototype Mosquito which, at the time of my visit, was being extensively overhauled and was without engines.

The Aircraft Museum Explorer Run by Michael Sibley, this site covers exhibits of every Aircraft Museum in the United Kingdom. This site is an astonishing tour-de-force.

Duxford-Update A frequently updated site which offers up to date information about exhibits on display at the IWM, Duxford. The site is maintained by Martin Claydon and contains high quality photographs. A visit to this site is a must for anyone planning a visit to Duxford.

Still Krazy Not aviation related but a must for anybody interested in film and photography. Still Krazy supplies photographs printed in the old-fashioned way - in a darkroom - to a very high quality indeed. With photographs dating back to the silent era this is well worth a look.
